For my visual essay, I chose to work on the Mishawaka Public Library's 2009 Summer Reading Program video. This video will go to all of the elementary schools in the Mishawaka/Penn area to be viewed by children in grades K-6. I took many of the photographs for the PowerPoint slides including all of the grand prizes. I scanned some of the official artwork of the program (the racecars and poster for example) and for the racecars created transparent backgrounds. The real photographs of the racecars and track were taken from Wikimedia and are under a Creative Commons license. The music clip at the beginning is "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts and is under 30 seconds. One of my fellow employees who is a voice actor volunteered to do the voiceovers for the PowerPoint slides. The racecar sound effects are from the Microsoft library. The total project comes in at 5 minutes, 6 seconds.
